Classroom Environment & Curriculum
The core of our toddler curriculum is a deep knowledge of child development and the skillful art of observation. Our teachers are trained to observe where each child is in their individual development, always seeking opportunities to nurture and pull them forward in their learning.
The goal of the toddler program is to create a warm and secure environment where children gain independence by doing what they do best – exploring everything!
A tremendous portion of a child’s brain development takes place in the first three years of life. The focus in the toddler room is on developing language, motor, and self-help skills and helping children build trusting relationships. The classroom is truly toddler-friendly; chairs, tables, sinks, and materials are sized specifically for this age group. Teachers observe the children each day, note their readiness for new skills or concepts, and find the best moment to invite them to investigate new activities.
The toddler curriculum consists of the following areas:
Daily living, sensorial, language, social/emotional learning, art, and physical motor development.
