8th Grade Graduation

On Friday, May 31st, our school held its annual Montessori Bridging Ceremony for children who were moving up to new program levels. Montessori classrooms move in 3-year cycles, meaning that Primary classrooms consist of children 3-6 years old, Lower Elementary 1st – 3rd grade children, Upper Elementary 4th – 6th grade children, and Adolescent 7th and 8th grade. During the Bridging Ceremony, the children walk across the bridge, leaving behind their current classroom and moving up to the next. Their current guides see them across the bridge to meet their new guides. It is a symbolic and meaningful ceremony.

Pictured here is our 8th grade graduating class! Some of these children have been with our school since they were in Primary. We could not be prouder of each one of them! They have come so far, and we cannot wait to see where the go from here in their educational journeys.
