Lower Elementary Lead Guide
Qualifications
- Holds a bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Holds a Montessori teaching credential from an AMS or AMI/MACTE accredited teacher education program in Elementary I (6-9 years).
- Demonstrates an ability to relate sensitively to people of all ages and varied backgrounds.
- Possesses a professional manner, personal characteristics and mental abilities necessary to work with children, including:
- respect for and faith in each child,
- sensitivity to individual needs and learning styles,
- ability to provide appropriate challenges to each child’s learning development,
- exceptional amount of patience and flexibility
- Demonstrates an interest in upgrading professional qualifications through participation in a staff development program, especially related to the Montessori approach to education.
- Meets all staff requirements of local and state regulatory agencies.
