Primary II Blogpost

Hello Primary II Families!

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break.  Leading up to our own Thanksgiving celebration here in the classroom, the children were busy learning the story of the first Thanksgiving.  We focused the month of November on the continent of North America and Native Americans.  The books we read together sparked many great conversations.  The children loved learning about the legend of the dreamcatcher and had fun creating their very own dreamcatchers to hang above their beds.

In the first week of December, we have learned about Hannukah and have begun to discuss Christmas, Kwanza and New Years.  We have been listening to Tchaikovsky and the music of the Nutcracker.  We will be studying solids-liquids-and gases in science along with amphibians.  Our featured artist this month is Michelangelo and our author of the month is JanBrett.

We are asking parents to please send in a pair of slippers (no characters, please) for your child to wear daily in the classroom.  As always, thank you for your continued support and sharing your children with us each day.
