The goal of the toddler program is to create a nurturing and secure environment where children gain independence by doing what they do best – exploring everything!
A tremendous portion of a child’s brain development takes place in the first three years of life. The focus in the toddler room is on developing language, motor and self-help skills and helping children build trusting relationships. The classroom is truly toddler – friendly; chairs, tables, sinks and materials are sized specifically for this age group. Teachers observe the children each day, note their readiness for new skills or concepts, and find the best moment to invite them to investigate new activities. The classroom is divided into the following areas: practical life, sensorial, language, and beginning math. Lessons in cooking, gardening, music, cultural studies, and Spanish are a regular part of the curriculum.
