Primary I December Blog

Hello everyone!  November was very busy month.  We learned about the first Thanksgiving and Native Americans, and the children made Native American headdresses and shakers.  In cooking class we made tepees with tortillas and fruit. The Thanksgiving Feast was also a blast! We had so much fun dancing and singing Native American songs around our new classroom tepee donated by Elisa and Guido (Roberto’s parents.) A special thanks to all of the MSH classrooms for sharing delicious food with us!

In December, we will continue with our holiday spirit by celebrating holidays around the world!  This week, we learned about Hanukkah.  We also learned how Thanksgiving is celebrated in Korea thanks to Miyoung (Shinae’s mom.) Later this month we will learn about Diwali, the Festival of Lights, in India.  We will end our holiday celebrations by learning more about the Christmas holiday.  The children will make gingerbread houses with graham crackers, fruit, and cream cheese.  It is so wonderful to see how children love different holiday celebrations. Thank you all so much for all that you do for our MSH. Ms. Alicia, Ms. Carol, and I  wish every one of you a safe and happy holiday!  See you in 2014!
