Hello everyone! Finally the cold days are here! Please make sure you bring warm, extra clothes for your kids. Also, make sure you send a jacket, hat, and mittens or gloves. We will be helping your children put on their jacket, hat, and mittens but we do not do it for them. Please give them a chance to learn how to do it at home, as well. A special thanks to Melissa Slowik for taking pictures during Grandparents' Day and Peace Day. It was very nice of her to print pictures and bring copies for us. Also, Melissa's husband is making cubbies for our class. We really appreciate all your help. Thanks to all the parents for coming to the Parent Sharing Night. The children were so happy to share their work with you.
We all enjoyed learning about spiders. The children are working at their own pace. It is wonderful to see how children focus on a task. When I tried to take pictures to capture their focus and concentration, they did not even notice the camera flash. It is a beautiful experience to watch and observe them working.
In November we talk about harvesting pumpkins, corn, and cotton. We also talk about Native Americans and their culture. We will make related art activities and find out from children what they are thankful for. We love their innocent answers about what they are thankful for. We are planning to cook corn and pumpkin pies together with Ms. Agnes' class and share with all the other classes. We will have Thanksgiving Feast together with Ms. Agnes' class.
We will also learn about the fall season, leaves, and trees and read about related poems and songs! Children will continue working on writing lessons. They are enjoying writing in sand, chalk board, pin-punch, and on paper. In Geography they will continue studying different regions of the United States.
We wish everyone a safe and peaceful Thanksgiving.
