Preschoolers are fascinated by that great wonder beyond the sky. Therefore, this month and for two weeks of December we will be studying our solar system. Teaching the solar system to preschoolers is more about learning names and amazing curiosities, rather than memorizing facts and statistics. We give the children an introduction to the concept of the solar system. Another aspect of space will be the study of gravity. We will be doing experiments to help them better understand the idea.
Since November is the month in which we celebrate Thanksgiving, our cooking class will be centered around a Thanksgiving meal that we will share with other classes. If you are willing to help with preparation for this meal, please let me know as we will need as many volunteers as possible. This year, I would like to encourage fathers or grandfathers to help us with the cooking classes in next months, too. Our recipes are easy and tasty, and my main goal is to show children that cooking is not only mom’s job. Please remember that every day we go outside. It is fall now, and it is getting colder every day, so please make sure the children have appropriate clothing for the weather. Happy Thanksgiving!
