  • Toshiba Grant

MSH is one of the featured schools mentioned on Toshiba's website for recently receiving a grant supported by them! Listed below is a portion of MSH's "Power of Nature" proposal:

Montessori School of Huntsville (Huntsville, AL)
"The Power of Nature" is a program to improve science education at the Montessori School of Huntsville by offering information and a variety of experiments about energy in general and the use of solar and wind energy in particular. The program will play an important role in teaching science as it will allow students to experience the sun and the wind as powerful energy sources and promising alternatives to fossil fuels. It will contain a variety of exciting hands-on experiments centered on building and using various solar powered devices as well as a wind turbine.

Thank you to Rashi Abbas and Katja Brade for writing the grant proposal and helping to improve our school!

Many of you have stopped by with questions regarding safety here at MSH.  Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have a question or concern.  We are constantly assessing and improving our program and your child's safety is of utmost importance.  Anytime there is an issue at the school we will initiate our Schoolcast message system to inform you immediately.  We also invite you to stop by and review our crisis management plan.  It is available on the counter in the office. Thank you for your never-ending support!

  • Welcome Mr. David

A belated welcome to Mr. David Wencil, our long-term extended care substitute for Ms. Molly. David is a recent graduate of the University of Montevallo.  David lives in Huntsville with his wife Felicia and is also pursuing a career in voice acting.  In addition to providing extended care, Mr. David will be putting his BA in Theatre to use here at MSH. He is working on a short video promo for the school and helping elementary extended care students produce an in-house commercial for their food and clothing drive.  Please take time to welcome him to the school.

  • Cooking Class at Williams Sonoma

Learning is not just for kids here at MSH.  Parents are invited to Williams Sonoma on Thursday, Dec 13 at 6:30pm to participate in a cooking class.  The topic for for the class will be knife skills and class attendees can receive an additional 10% off items in the store following the class.  Space is limited to only 12 students.  The sign-up sheet can be found in the school lobby.  We'd like to thank Jamie Haws, an MSH parent, for providing us with this wonderful opportunity.
